Setnote Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to all users who use the SetNote Notebook App (hereinafter referred to as “This App”) globally, and clearly specifies the rules of this App for the collection, use, storage, disclosure, and protection of users‘ personal data, notes contents, and device information, strictly following international Common Data Protection compliance standards. Users who download, install, and use all features of this App indicate that they have fully read, fully understood, and unconditionally agree to all terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy.

1. Scope and type of information collection

1.1 User Self-Submitted Information

1.1.1 Content Class Information

All notes, text records, notes, custom labels, categorized folders, and note information that the user independently creates, edits, and saves within this application, and so on, are self-entered by the user and are the primary user data corresponding to the core services of this application.

1.1.2 Account Number and Feedback Information

Information such as user active account registration, personal profile editing, feature feedback submission, nicknames submitted when consulting questions, account identification, feedback text and screenshots is used only for account management and connection to user questions.

1.2 System Automatic Information Collection

To ensure the stable operation of the application, this application automatically collects non-sensitive device data, including information such as device model, operating system version, application execution logs, feature usage frequency, crash report error records, and so on. Throughout the process, it follows data minimization principles and does not collect user privacy-sensitive data.

2. Information Use Rules and Uses

2.1 Service Operations and Functional Assurance

2.1.1 Basic Functional Operations

Use user-stored note data and device-based information to enable core notebook functions such as note saving, editing, query, classification, backup, restore, and more, ensuring service operation is normal and stable.

2.1.2 Product iteration optimization

Troubleshoot application failures, fix program vulnerabilities, optimize interaction experiences, and iterate on new additions to continuously improve product usage smoothness through anonymized, de-sensitive run logs and usage data.

2.2 Forbidden Usage Specifications

Without the explicit written permission of the user, we will never use the content of the user‘s notes, personal data for non-service-essential purposes such as commercial marketing, advertising promotion, third-party promotion, data sales, etc., and prevent all illegal data reuse.

3. Data storage and retention mechanisms

3.1 Data Storage Methods

3.1.1 Local Storage

By default, all the user‘s note content is stored primarily locally on the user‘s personal device, accessible only to the user himself within the device, and this application server does not actively read and retain the user’s non-synchronized note data locally.

3.1.2 Cloud Storage

After users actively turn on cloud backup and data synchronization features, the corresponding notebook data will be stored in an encrypted manner on internationally compliant cloud servers, protected by industry-standard encryption technologies to prevent data leakage.

3.2 Data retention period

Local user data is retained and deleted at the user‘s discretion; cloud sync data will be continuously retained during the user‘s use of the service. After the user actively deletes the data and signs out of the account, we will completely erase the corresponding cloud data within the compliance cycle, except for compliance logs that are required by international law to be retained.

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure Standards

4.1 Legal Disclosure Scenarios

4.1.1 User Authorized Disclosure

Only with the active and explicit authorization of the user can related data be disclosed to the extent specified by the user. The user can voluntarily revoke the authorization at any time, and immediately terminate all corresponding data disclosure behaviors after authorization revocation.

4.1.2 Legal Compliance Disclosure

In compliance with international law and regulations, judicial investigations, and compliance regulatory requirements, we may legally disclose necessary user data, the scope of disclosure being strictly limited within the legal requirements, without excessive disclosure behavior.

4.2 Restrictions on Third-Party Collaboration

We do not personally share, sell, or rent user notes and personal privacy data to any third-party business entity. Co-operating third-party service entities may only access declassified, anonymous operational data, and are required to sign strict confidentiality agreements and take responsibility for data security.

5. User Data Rights Statement

5.1 Data Query and Correction Rights

5.1.1 Autonomous Query Rights

Users can automatically query all personal data stored in the cloud, sync records, and feature usage data at any time from the application settings interface. Data queries are fully autonomous, free, and thresholdless.

5.1.2 Information Correction Rights

If users discover errors in account information or synchronization data, they can self-complete changes and corrections within the application, or they can request manual assistance through official channels.

5.2 Data Deletion and Authorization Revocation Rights

Users have full data deletion permissions to delete local notebook data, delete cloud sync data, and sign out of their account at any time. They can also revoke all data processing permissions granted at any time, and we will immediately stop the corresponding data processing operations upon revocation.

6. Data Security Measures

6.1 Technical Protection Systems

6.1.1 Data Encryption Protection

All cloud data transfer and storage segments are processed with advanced encryption algorithms, encrypting transmission and storage throughout, effectively preventing security risks such as data theft, tampering, leakage, and illegal access.

6.1.2 System Security Operations

We regularly conduct server security checks, remediate system vulnerabilities, upgrade protection mechanisms, and continuously optimize our data security system to defend against various security threats such as cyber attacks and illegal intrusions.

6.2 Security Incident Handling Mechanism

If security events such as abnormal data access, leakage, or loss occur, we will immediately initiate emergency plans to block risks, address potential issues, fix vulnerabilities, and promptly synchronize the incident situation and security protection recommendations to users.

7. Policy updates and user consultation channels

7.1 Policy Revisions and Effective Rules

7.1.1 Policy Update Announcements

We have the right to amend this Privacy Policy at appropriate times in accordance with international data compliance standards and product and service upgrade requirements. The updated content will be made public across the web through in-app announcements and version update prompts, without the need to separately notify users individually.

7.1.2 Validity of the Terms

After the publication of the Privacy Policy update, users continue to use all services of this App, which is considered as voluntary acceptance and acceptance of the latest revised terms; if users do not accept the updated terms, they can immediately stop using this App.
